The South African Police Service (SAPS) detained the 22-year-old male suspect on suspicion of possessing and dealing in illegal narcotics; he will remain in custody until his court appearance. The South African Police Service (SAPS) received information about a drug dealer getting on a public transport vehicle with drugs as early as Saturday morning. Immediate action was taken upon receiving this information, leading to the capture of the cab at Bela-Bela. During the passenger inspection, it was found that a 22-year-old male was carrying 100 heroin sachets. The heroin, with an estimated street value of R21,000, was allegedly purchased by the suspect from a vendor in Pretoria. The person in question was taken into custody and is currently serving time in prison. The Bela-Bela Magistrate's Court has scheduled his initial court appearance, when he is expected to confront allegations pertaining to drug possession and dealing. Further enquiries into the occurrence are still continuing.
